Hello! My name is Diego Bottazzi, an illustrator and artist living in Brescia, Italy.

Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.

About me

Since I was young, I have always been attracted to the great masters of art of the past, fascinated by their stories, their fragilities and their anxieties. More specifically, I have always felt close to the spirit of the Belle Époque.

From here, from the study and incessant rediscovery of always relevant works the past, the guiding star of my work comes: to arouse, through images, any emotion, regardless of its nature. The objective remains that inherent in the very concept of art: to contribute to the betterment of society.

Confucius said:

“A picture is worth a thousand words”.

For me, drawing means dealing with distances, weights and measures. It is a true universal language capable of describing, understanding and reworking the world. My sign is a journey, at the end of which I find, unveiled, the meaning of my work. Along the way, I study, experiment, renew myself as a person and as an illustrator. I struggle with all my strength with the creative instinct that dwells within me: it is like controlling a ferocious beast. The intention is to recover the intrinsic value of drawing, trying to provide a new way of seeing things in order to rediscover the BEAUTY of art, in a continuous game of mirrors with the BEAUTY of the world.

Educational background:

Graduated from the “Vincenzo Foppa” Art School, I obtained two third and fifth year degrees from the Free Academy of Fine Arts (L.A.B.A.) in Brescia.
